  1. im not to familiar with that style but from what i hear it may take a while like 5 years or more

  2. Belts take about 2 weeks to get once you order them.  You can get any color you want.

Now, to earn the belts is a different story.  In my experience, if an instructor can give you a strict timeline of how long it will take you to earn each belt, don't train there.  How you progress in your path is different from everyone before and after you.  You will go at your own pace.

  3. It takes some people 3 years, some 5 years, and others never get it.  I know that belt color is the motivation that most people need, but you'll find that belt color won't matter if you have a good teacher.   I've seen a yellow belt (who had a good teacher) beat the snot out of a brown belt (who had a mediocre teacher).  So,  it really depends on you and the quality of your instructor.

  4. I dont know about hapkido, cause ive never trained in it, but any martial arts that allows you to earn a 1st dan black, should take ATLEAST 5 years. Ive been training in shaolin kung fu for 8 years and still havent got my black sash. And yes, I train really hard. 4 hours a day during the week, and up to 7 on saturdays. Its all depending on whether your teacher is out for money or teaching a quality art!

  5. The only thing belts are good for are to hold your pants up....with that said you definitely need to consider why you are wanting to take a MA. Knowledge and trust come with time-so does skill....and that is different for each individual
