  1. I think at least 10 years.

    You will have 4 years of pre-med/ undergraduate school. Some people take longer to finish, and you will need excellent grades to even be considered.You then have 4 years of med school (very expensive), and after that a few years of residency (where you don't get paid much and work looong shifts). The length of the residency depends on the specialty and I don't know how long pediatrics would be.

  3. About 12 years.  You'll have 4 years of undergraduate schooling, 4 years of medical school, and then you'll choose your specialty- pediatrics and you'll do 3 years of residency and a 1 year internship.
