I have just received my bachelors in Business but I have a sudden passion to become a registered nurse. If I got into a nursing program how long would it take me to become a nurse? And, is it even possible for me to get into a nursing program if I have a background in business?

  1. Yes you only need 5 GCSE's  A-C with maths and English at grade C or above to get on the 3year Diploma/BSc (hons) in nursing.

With a bachelors you could probably study for the masters in nursing!

    Good luck!

I have done Administration at college and now want to be a nurse - then Midwife!!

  2. Not sure, but i wanted to say congrats on your degree. After I finish for Coding and Billing, I want to become a nurse too.

  3. There may be prerequisites that you don't have.  Anatomy, Micro Biology, Psychology, Chemistry and more math and sciences.   There are elective courses that you may already have.  If you want to do this, you need to start looking now.  Sometimes it takes a few years to get accepted into a nursing program.  You can be getting the college courses out of the way in the meantime.  Check your local area for programs.  If you need any help, let me know.  I went to a 2 year nursing program.  I got all of my college credits out of the way first, which allowed me to focus on nursing school.  Nursing school is a tough 2 years, but it is worth it.  You need to have a drive to help people.

If you are in the USA, After you meet the requirements, You can do a 2 year degree and make the same money as a 4 year bachelors in Nursing.  A bachelors in  nursing is only good if you want to be in management. It takes several years after school to get into management  anyway.  You could do the 2 year degree and be making good money and take courses to get your bachelors later.
