How long does it take to become an oral surgeon?

Also how do I become an oral surgeon.

While studying for my specialty like in medicine students are paid during residency would I be paid while learning.

well an oral surgeon is a specialist witch means it takes about 8 to 10 years. first you have to get a bachelor degree, witch takes about 4 years, then 4 years of dental school, then 2 more to become a specialist, you would probably start doing your residency about you 3rd year of dental school, and im not sure if you get paid but you probably do.

Ive done alot of research for medical, because ive considered going into a medical field, but dental is the same amount of time, but im not really sure about the residency.
