  1. i love water polo and it all depends on what you know how to do if you can't do anything it's going to take awhile because you have to build the stamina to swim back and forth then you have to learn how to eggbeater and then of course shot and pass, but to just learn the game it might not take that long

  2. I watched that little girl sport once.  I calculate it should take about 90 seconds to be good at that g*y little swimming show they call "water polo" (as long as you have enough estrogen in your system, that is).

  3. to get really good it takes awhile. but to learn most of the moves and stuff it doesnt take that long. its an easy sport to learn, but hard to get good at

  4. it depends how focased you are and how determined you are, and it also depends on what you mean by good! i have been playing for 6yrs, and i have always been "good" for my age.

you need to, if your goingto be good, practice a lot, cross-train, go to camps, and join a good club team. you can also go to water polo websites or talk to coaches and find drills you can do to help become good.

Also, if you really want to be good, you have to make sure you are determined. I am a water polo goalie, also a freashman, and if you are dtermined and ALWAYS HAVE A POSSITIVE attitude, you can become good faster. but try hard.

  5. the concepts and rules of the game are easy to learn, but building up the stamina and endurance to play the game takes time.  if you are already a swimmer it should be easier for you and all you'll really need to learn is egg beatering and getting used to catching/throwing a ball using only one hand.  if you are not a swimmer then you will definitely need to learn how to swim.  how fast you learn really depends your eagerness and ability i guess.

  6. Some people never become "good".  If you are a good swimmer then you have a chance at becoming "good".  Learning the basics of the game really takes a season or so.  If you played the summer league, you would likely have a good understanding of the game by the end of the summer.  Now, being "good" at it could take longer - if ever.  The best thing is to try it...if you like it you will put the time in and get as good as you can be...

  7. the basics dont take very long to learn.. maybe three months, BUT, that is just to LEARN the basics, not to nessesarly be able to do them.  Egg beatering (the type of treadding water for water polo) would probobly take 4 months to get down, and once you have learned it, it becomes natural.  learning to shoot well really depends on your natural ability, some people will be able to shoot well without any pratice while others will need time to work on technique.  It also depends if you want a special position.  Goalie and hole take more training then the wings and point because they have speical jobs to do that no one else does.  All that said, alot of girls on my h2o polo team had never played before season and they did fine.
