  1. it depends on how much blood is flowing out in a certain amount of time( like if you cut an artery or just a skin cut)   , if it is an artey cut, then it takes about 3 hours

  2. If you need someone to talk to , feel free to email me.

  3. Depends on how large the cut is. If it is gushing blood you'll die faster. If it is a papercut you won't get close to dying. Just depends. (=

  4. pretty long if its juts a cut if you did on both wrists it would be faster or just to the neck...

  5. You have about 8 pints of blood.

You lose 1 pint per fifteen minutes of you have your arm cut off.

  6. 23 seconds cause thats when the blood fully circulates through your body.....

  7. It depends on how fast you're bleeding. I know that if you cut your jugular or carotid, then you'll black out in like 3 seconds and die shortly after, but it all depends.

  8. well, id say about a half hour at the most, 10 minutes at the least, you have major vein running through your wrist, so it would be fast unless you stopped the bleeding

  9. It depends on several things- how "deep" it is, and how much you are a bleeder. Some very important veins could be in the wrist. I would say on average if you are bleeding severely- you can bleed to death within a few minutes.

  10. Probably not a good experiment to try really dont But If a main artery a matter of minutes i suppose.

  11. Prabably 2 hours

  12. Probably like 15-20 minutes if it's deep.

  13. Probably a day at most. I got my tonsels taken out and the scab came off too early and i had to go to the er because i was bleeding so bad took the doctor 3 hours to get there if he wasn't there on the 4th hour i would have died. So as you can see it doesn't take long.

  14. If a large blood vessel is cut, a person can bleed to death in one minute or less. Rapid loss of one quart or more of blood often leads to irreversible shock and death. Serious bleeding requires immediate attention and care.

  15. If you are a 90 pound weakling, not too long.

If you weigh over 200 pounds, a little be longer.

  16. depends on how hot or cold it is... if it's cold, you could last for several hours, possibly even days... if it is warm i would say maybe 3-4 hours... but it also depends on the severity of the cut.

  17. If you cut a main artery it could be seconds. Not sure if I like the example you gave about a cut on a wrist, on the wrist it would be a long time and not a good way to die.

  18. My guess is 20 minutes.

If you cut off your head, or leg, then you would bleed to death much faster. Literally every heartbeat would pump a good amount out.

Add to that, always, after a slit wrist, the person tries to cover the wound as it is the natural reaction when bleeding.

For your story, you would want the character to live long enough to atleast TRY to get help.

If you want real drama, have your character throw themselves into a wood chipper. The whole slit wrist thing is pretty lame considering the variety of ways this can be done.

  19. depends how deep you cut, how you cut it -vertical thru the viens and up the arms is quicker- sitting in a warm bath will prevent coagulation. I give that person 15 to 20 minutes tops

  20. an artery is going to bleed fast. the heart will pump the blood out. so it is going to vary. the carotids in the neck are huge and it could be fast. the brachial artery in the arms is small it will take longer. i'm a nurse. i don't know from experience.

  21. d**n what a inhuman question 0_0 lets sat 24 minute it also depends from where your bleeding

  22. it depends on lots of things, the thickness of the persons blood, ability to heal, blood conditions and also what way the wrist is slit.

It could be anytime tbh, I would say an hour or so, but thats a total guess - this should be a good enough guestimate for your story? maybe watching csi or something could give a better indication.

  23. Depends how you bleed out.

If you bleed into your stomach and become hypovolemic it can take hours.

If your gushing out blood then death can take anywhere from 6 minutes and up once the brain stops perfusing due to lackl of O2 and blood your a goner.

  24. It depends on where the cut is exactly. What veins in the wrist have been severed? Which direction is the cut going?

  25. This is very suspicious.  There are many methods, but it all depends on where.

It can be as fast as a minute if done right.

  26. Ummm it depends on the veins that it killed, and ummmm how long you wait before contacting the doctor or the ER or whatever, go to wikipedia

  27. i'm guessing 30 minutes, varying according to how much you weigh. :]

    and JESUS, PEOPLE!

she just asked a ******* question!

that doesn't mean she's planning on killing herself!

    please get lives.

  28. I think it depends on where you're bleeding from. a major artery, then maybe a couple minutes.

  29. According to a trucker named Jim who watches ER a lot it takes about 2 hrs 37 min and 45 seconds flat to bleed to death. I believe him cause he seen every last episode there is dude

  30. The arteries in the wrist take a couple of hours because they are smaller.
