  1. a fast train between reading and london paddington takes approx 25 mins x

  2. About 35 min but not at weekends as a lot of engineering work is carried out then.

  3. By train about half an hour.

  4. roughly 30 to 40 minuites

  5. No it is not a bad commute at all - I do it every day and have done for 5 years. Takes 25 mins into Paddington and trains are really quite reliable (the odd incident - but First Great Western are quite good). The good thing is there are regular trains through the evening getting you back (last one leaves Paddington at about 0230!). It means you can get p*ssed in London and still get back to your bed - unless you fall asleep and wake up in Swansea/Oxford as I have done on 2 occasions (if you get the choice - definitely go for Oxford!). The trains to Waterloo are less reliable (different operator) and takes a lot longer.

  6. There are fast trains every few minutes taking 25-30 mins to reach London Paddington

There are also stopping 'turbo' trains that take about 60mins (but used to have a cheaper 'Turbo only' fare - I don't know if they still do)

  7. By car on the M4, 40 minutes to the outskirts. Train 30 mins.
