If you are walking around The Acropolis (with kids) how long do you think it would take. This is including all tht temples and monuments and stuff that you can see. Like the Temples of Athena, the Parthenon, the Stolas etc. I hope people who have visited the place could tell me. Also could you tell me your experiences and whether you enjoyed it. Please do help me.

  1. Around an hour is if you are already on top of the Acropolis, until you leave. But if you also plan to visit the Dionysus Theatre and theAgora and go around the rock, it could take you about 3 hours. Make sure you don't go when the sun is burning.

  2. If you make a detailed walk around, It may take you an hour. It took me and a foreign friend of mine about an hour to go around the Acropolis, take pictures, enjoy the view from up high.... I loved it, but I'm a little "prejudiced" since I'm Greek!Maybe a foreigner could give you another answer.

But if you go, keep in mind that you have to go VERY early in the morning because when the sun comes up things are difficult. It can be very hot. If it's a cloudy day it's o.k. Cloudy days are rare in Greece though, especially in summer.

Also have with you bottles of water because you will need them for sure. There is a canteen at the Acropolis but it is too expensive. Better buy a couple of bottles before you reach the Acropolis.

I hope you decide to go. It's worth it. And I'm sure your kids will remember it in the years to come. I know I remember my first visit up there with my parents, years ago.
