How long does it take to cross Ireland?

I am taking my honeymoon in Ireland in October, and I was curious how long it would take to get from Dublin to Dingle Peninsula? What are must-see sites that we can see in a week? We have 7 days there, and we want to see as much as we can, we arent worried about just relaxing, we are going to spend our trip seeing anything we possibly can. Any suggestions? I have to make my own itinerary, we cant afford a travel agent after all of the wedding expenses. Thank you in advance!

If you are traveling from Dublin I'd stop off in Limerick for a night and enjoy the restaurants and pubs.

From there you can choose to head for Dingle and Kerry or spend a day in Clare - wild and wonderful with the Cliffs of Moher a great treat as well as a night in Bunratty Castle for a Medieval Banquet - and there's Durty Nelly's pub afterwards for a drink or two.

Dingle is fantastic and you're right in the middle of Kerry there. Dingle is about 3 hours drive from Limerick and the roads vary from good to average and narrow.

If you are in Kerry, then the Ring of Kerry is a must - it's a road that loops around some of the most beautiful and scenic areas in the country. I'd take a day or so to do it and stop off on the way - Glenbeigh is a village on the route that has a great beach (Rossbeigh) close by. Killarney is the main town on the route - full of tourist hot spots and has fantastic scenery. Can be expensive and a bit "touristy" - but you're going there off-season so should be great.

From there West Cork is an easy car-drive. There I'd maybe stay in Kinsale - it's on the coast and has fantastic restaurants and pubs. Clonakilty is also a great town to visit in that area.

Cork city is close-by and worth a night or two - the Cork Jazz festival is on at the end of October.  

You can fly from Dublin to Kerry Airport if you don't fancy the drive - check www.skyscanner.net for availability and prices - not that expensive. Not sure what car hire facilities are available in Kerry Airport - you'd need to check that too.

You can also fly back from Cork to Dublin - or a car drive takes up to 4 hours.

If you drive straight from Dublin to Dingle, you can do it in about 5 hours, depending on traffic.

I'd suggest heading straight to the South-West, and simply asking the locals what's going on. You never know what you might come across!

Dublin to dingle..about 6-7hours.You must see the beutiful dingle coast and irish scenery you'll find lots of that in kerry(where dingle is)

This is quite a small island so you can travel from the very top to the bottom in about 7 hours by car depending on traffic.
