  1. I learned the front handspring at home by myself. I was like you, I could do it perfect on the trampoline. Then I just decided to try it by myself in the grass. I took a running start to get momentum. That is really important. You might not be landing because you don't bend your back enough, but I don't know if that's the case or not. You have to have a real flexible back. So it took me one day to get it and about a week to perfect it. It took me about a month and a half to get my back handspring. But everyone is different, some people may take a year, some people may take two weeks. You just really have to want it. And it's good that you have a roundoff so when you get that back handspring, you can connect it(:  Good Luck!

  2. it took me about a year and a half!

but i didnt have much help only from my teamates

you could have some private classes and you could learn maybe a better technique

  3. As far as a front handspring make sure you get a good running start for power and as soon as you start to arch forward use all your arm power to push yourself off the floor. I dont know how much you practice but it could take you 3-6 months depending on how fast you learn and how much you practice. a back handspring may take a little longer if you cant kick over on a back bend yet. you have to have a lot of upper body strength im gonna say it will take you 7 months to a year to learn again not knowing how much you practice.

  4. You need to work on having perfect bridges and handstands with a limber and stand up. For the back handspring you will also need a very good jump back.

You can do drills and stretches at home every day that will really speed up the process of learning the skills, but you have to be dedicated. You get out of it what you put into it. http://aescougarcheer.com/Cheer101/tumbl... (The back handspring drills are listed below the front ones.)

    Good luck!
