How long does it take to do a background check?

I got a job offer, and a week ago monday, I brought them my social security card for a background check, they said it would take 3 to 4 days, but, as of today, still nothing, how long does it take?

No more than 5 days depending on the company. They may have got it back and just have other things to consider b4 they give you a call.

usually takes about a week. It takes longer than usual when it is your first job, or if you have lived in other states.
