How long does it take to drive or on a bus from Playa to cancun ?

I drive it fairly often...about 45 min if traffic is "normal".

Bus can be faster (they don't always go the speed limit).

Don't rent a care from one of this Companies websites.  They are website host and designers/copiers, not a Travel Agency. My families vacation was ruined by this bunch and I really don't think I will ever recommend them to anyone, ever. As a matter of fact, I will tell everyone that I know not to Set up a Wedding, Rent a Room, Car, Tour, Airport Transfer or anything from these Fakes ever. They took my familes vacation money and destroyed our vacation in Cancun. We didn't get anything promised and what we got was telephone hang-ups, and lies. If they were in Canada we would run them out of the country.

I just did it. My Bride and I took the bus from Playa del Carmen to the Cancun Airport. The trip was one hour and 10 minutes. The bus made two stops along the highway to pick up and drop off passengers. There are two speed-bumps and a Police check point on the highway so don't try and judge your travel time by the distance. To drive the road might take you 55 minutes.  If you are going to downtown Cancun from Playa del Carmen the travel time is another 15 minutes.

Take the Bus its really a coach the cost is $8.00 one-way.

If you drive...about 45 minutes.

If you take the bus...prob 1 hr with all the stops.  But the drivers HAUL A*s, so probably 50 min or so.
