  1. are you flying with aerlingus? because there is normally a stop off at dublin ...

I remember it was shorter when i was flying home from chicago. I know it was about 7 hours dublin - chicago.  And about 6 hours Chicago - Dublin ... so im guessing it would be about 5 hours from NYC - shannon( that is not including any stops in Dublin, add more for that) and about 6 hours Shannon - NYC(again not including any stopovers)

  2. it takes 5 hours and 30 minutes from nyc to shannon

and 6 hours 45 minutes from shannon to nyc

  3. it depends on which route the pilot takes(there are two possibles) but it's around 6 or 7 hours and if i was you unless you are staying near shannon i'd fly on to dublin

  4. This sounds daft but it takes longer to fly Shannon to NY than it does to come back.

The flying time back is roughly 6 hours,  and nearer to 7 hours to go over.

The reason is the prevailing wind up at 38000 feet is, west to east in direction and in your favour over the Atlantic Ocean.   It is against you flying east to west and therefore takes longer.

  5. About 6-7 hours. You get a break with the airflow for some reason going to ireland - then going to the US from Ireland it takes a bit longer. Just plan for about 7 hours or so.

  6. Well tonights(18AUG) flight from JFK - SNN the EI-110 will have a trip time of 5hrs 33 min. This does not include any taxi time at JFK.

  7. 7 hours 20 minutes going from shannon to JFK airport so I assume it's the same amount of hours/minutes the other way.
