for a connecting flight it would take 3hrs and 30 mins or so depending on the lay over time...

This is a relatively short flight it you can find something that is direct.  I know that there have been a lot of routes discontinued due to low passenger traffic and high fuel prices.

Normally the flight is about 1 hour, but when you factor in the security provisions and customs inspection, it takes close to 2 1/2 hours for the trip.

Not knowing where you live in the Toronto area or where in the Pittsburgh area you are going, you might want to consider driving.  It will end up taking the same amount of time to cross at Niagara / Buffalo and then drive south on I-79.
