I am a permanent US resident (Green Card holder), but I require the tourist visa to travel to Mexico. How long does it take to get tourist Mexican visa after I apply for it in a Mexican Consulate? If the answer depends on the location, I live in San Jose, CA.

  1. you actually don't need a visa to go to mexico. your green card will be enough for you to enter without a visa. they allow permanent residents to enter mexico with just the passport and the green card.

same thing for canada as well. no need for visas even though your country of citizenship does.

  2. I've heard one day

  3. if you are a permanent resident of the US and leaving # from the US,# you will not need a visa entering Mexico,

make sure your passport is valid at least 3 months, usually 6 months, with your green card,

your orginal passport, must be stamped by USCIS as a resident of the US. # do not forget your green card #
