How long does it take to get a MD from a college that doesn't require MCAT?

how long does it take to graduate from those schools, and how long is the residency period for becoming a surgeon?

  1. First off Collages don't require MCATs, medical schools do... This is how it works:

    4 years college/university - You are pre med taking pre med classes

    4 years med school - If you get in, very competitive. Good GPA and MCAT score needed for almost all med schools on US soil.

    Residency - 4-7 years for surgeon.

    I only know of two schools with programs where you don't need to take the MCATs:

    University of Missouri - Kansas City has a 6 year medical school program. It is extremely rigorous and requires you to go to school during the summer.

    University of Missouri - Columbia has a program called Conley Scholars, which isn't a 6-year program, but is equally appealing. As a senior in high school, you can apply to the program (with a minimum ACT of 30), and if you get in, you are guaranteed admission to Mizzou's medical school and are not required to take the MCAT.

    Otherwise your Going to be needing to take the MCATs.
