  1. The period depends upon the verification process of the documents submitted.

  2. it will only take 6 months,,it wil not take a yr..my frnd filed fiancee visa last january and fly to SC last july..

just be sure ur papers or documents are already fix..and ur fiancee is ready to all questions to be ask..

  3. maybe around 50 yrs but if that person took a job with a Cruise Company could narrow that down to say 1 yr.

  4. It takes quite some time. For instance, i have a cousin from Hawaii who met this Filipina and they got engaged but my cousin did not want to get married in the Philippines as he thought that if they got married in the US everything will be a bed of roses. Well, yes getting married in the US is great however getting there is rather difficult. My cousin went to the Philippines in August 2003 and petitioned/filed for a visa for his fiancee. Unfortunately, the visa was granted more than a year later around October 2004. Furthermore, my cousin's fiancee had to go through another process of interviews, fixing papers and so many other required paperwork, which lasted three months. She finally arrived in Honolulu in January 2005.

I have heard that to get a fiancee visa either for the US or the UK is a lengthy process that will last a year or so. The reason being for such a long period is that it is already rather difficult to obtain a passport in the Philippines, many many Filipinos are applying to the US, the US Embassy similar to the British Embassy conducts long interviews which can be compared to an interrogation as the interviews are more psychological than simple because, I am sad to say Kevin, it has become stereotypical for Filipinas, who have foreign relationships, to be perceived as gold diggers which i can vouch for despite being half Filipino myself (it's a long story) hence the Embassies ask questions that will toy with the minds of Filipinos such as: "So you have an American husband. When you go to the US you will divorce your husband because what is important to you is that you are in the US " etc. It is more or less like a psychologically trap so it takes longer for one to attain a visa because one might be denied one etc.

In conclusion, (I am so sorry about rattling on I'm a law student so i have too much to say terribly sorry) to apply for a fiancee visa is easy but the waiting process depends and especially is determined by interviews with the would-be-visa holder and the Consulate.

  5. The very first thing you have to do is go there and meet her in person.  File the papers when you come back and it will take 8 months to a year.
