How long does it take to get a journeyman electrician's license, study time and all.?

  1. I know that including the apprenticeship, it should take four years, if you go through the union. I didn't go that route. I didn't go that way. I started in a shipyard almost 30 years ago. I am now working on a drilling rig off the coast of Africa. I don't konw what to tell you. As for making money and not having to kill yourself working really hard, offshore is the way to go, unless you have a degree and can sit back behind a desk and s***w up prints for people like me to straighten out. (got a problem with some engineers, in case you couldn't guess.)

    Lots of opportunites out there for a good electrician. Good luck to you, whichever way you go.
