  1. There's not really a way to determine it.  Some places will SAY it takes six weeks...but that's a lie.  I think when I got my passport at 10 it took around 2-3 months to come in after I had my picture taken.  My parents did the paperwork so I'm not sure if there was more to it.  Visit a Passport Canada office for more info, they might be able to help you.

  2. 3 weeks for us. I think that the long long waits are over.

I just looked on the Passport Canada website, and it says 2 weeks if you apply in person, and 4 weeks if you do it throught the mail. Ours was 3 weeks through the mail

  3. Depends on how you do it.  The Passport Canada is update quite frequently and this is what it is currently saying:

Processing times (up to) At a counter   2 weeks

    By mail   4 weeks

    Via an agent   4 weeks

    From the U.S.   4 weeks

Keep in mind that doesnt count mail time...so add whatever amount of time from when it leaves your hands until it is received and then back to you as well.  Also, if any part of the application is ambiguous or missed signatures that adds to the time.  That is why it is better, if you can, to either take your application to Passport Canada or a receiving agent so they can check it over for you.

You can also pay $10 extra to go down and pick it up, saves worrying if you are pressed for time.  Our passport time was quoted as 2 weeks, but it was ready a lot faster than that.
