  1. I just recently got a job with CMS. I have principals calling....just about everyday. I am not sure what your certification is in, however if its elementary I can give you the names of a few schools that have call me in the last week or two. All I did was fill out the online application and take my resume/application to schools I was interested in....and the phone started to ring. Hope  this helps!

  2. My guess is about ten minutes :)  Really, new schools are opening up every year and there is a shortage of teachers.  Check out the school websites for openings -- but I hear all are not listed so you should call as well.

    Charlotte-Mecklenburg:  http://www.cms.k12.nc.us/

    Union County:  http://www.ucps.k12.nc.us/

Just be sure to check that the experience/degrees you have can transfer easily -- I know in some instances you need to take a test.

We also relocated from NY...feel free to contact me if you would like.  Best of luck to you.
