How long does it take to get addicted to Hydrocodones?

A little over a week ago I was given hydrocodones for shingles. I don't want to get addicted to them and I was wondering how long it would take to get addicted. I still need them for pain but if I am getting close to being addicted I will have to figure something out.

It depends on how addictive of a personality you have. Some people could take a drug once and be addicted, maybe not physically but psychologically. If you follow your doctor's orders you shouldn't have a problem with physical addiction, just stop taking them as soon as you don't feel like you need them anymore and can move to a lower risk pain killer that doesn't have as many addictive properties.

not long if you like them for more then just a pain releiver. if you take them to get high then addiction is almost certain because the more you take them the of them you will have to take. But if you are just taking them for pain and are not abusing them then you have nothing to worry about. I know a woman that has been taking them for years and she does not abuse them. they took her of of them and she was fine.

I used to take them with out a perscription, yes i know its a very bad thing but Ill tell you the truth, I have seen familys fall apart from them.

My freind had gotten addicted within a month of daily use.

Just stop as soon as ur dose is over, tell the doctor u may be addicted.
