How long does it take to get an instrument license?

Actually, its a rating ...not a license.  I had a commercial helicopter rating and added my instrument rating in about 3 weeks. I was flying twice a day everey day.

I am also getting an instrument ad-on for my fiexd wing cert right now .. You could estimate about 3-4 weekss full time.

it depends on how long u want it to take..u can take a month..u can take a year..it depends on u an da facilities yr school hve..to apply for it on iacra u shud hve a) at least 50 hrs of pic x-c time outta which 10 hrs must be in an airplane..b) 40 hrs of actual or simulated instrument time..c) 15 hrs of instrument flight trainin frm an authorised instructor..d) 3 hrs of trainin within 90 days preceding da day of da chk flight..e) 1 250 nm x-c under ifr with an instructor includin 3 diff kindsa approaches..
