We are a family and we are coming to London in August. I read that a child oyster travelcard takes 2 or 3 weeks, so you cannot buy that if you are on a week holiday. Is it the same also for adults?

  1. You can get an oyster card from any Underground station & from newsagents where you see the sign for the oyster card.

This website has comprehensive information on Oyster card & how it works

  2. Adult Oystercards can be picked up in person, without delay, from any London Underground ("the tube") ticket office or Oyster-authorised newsagent/corner shop.  A £3 refundable deposit is payable if you are using it for 'pay as you go'.  If you are purchasing a weekly travelcard, giving you unlimited travel for this period, the card is supplied with no deposit payable.

  3. I BELIEVE SO.

  4. no if you want an adult oster ask for 1 in a sweet shop put money on it and your ready

  5. All the info yu need to public transport and tickets in London can be found on the Transport for London Website:

    www.tfl.gov.uk/tube

  6. A child oyster card has to be processed specially. But an adult with an Oyster travelcard can take up to three children under 11 for free. However, this is only if you have a travelcard, it doesn't apply to pay as you go. An adult Oyster card can be picked up at any station within a few minutes.

Therefore if all your children are under 11 and you buy an Oyster card and load a travelcard onto it you can all travel on it.

  7. No, you can get it there and then at tube stations.
