It takes 2hrs 30min's from Manchester to Alicante, so, heathrow is closer, madrid is nearer, so should be about 2 hrs, at the most!

You CAN fly directly from London to Alicante, I believe, on ryanair...Okay.  I found it...direct, from london Stansted airport takes about 3.5 hours.

heathrow to Madrid:  3 hours, nonstop.
