  1. Either at Fiumicino Airport or Ciampino Airport you'll find many agencies where you can rent a car: Hertz, Avis, Budget, Europocar and so forth. From Fiumicino to the Trevi Fountain is a 50 min. drive, 36 kms. But one thing: Rome has restricted acces to the downtown area. You need a special permit in order to drive through this part of the city. Therefore the best thing is to arrive to your hotel in car, and then from there take either a cab, the subway or bus.

To get from there to the Pantheon is only a 10 minutes walk. From the Pantheon to the Colosseum you can either walk or take a bus (2.5 km)

  2. Roma have 2 airport: Ciampino and Fiumicino.

    Fiumicino-Colosseum about 39 min:

    Ciamoino-Colosseum 29 min:

All monuments you interest in is near colosseum.

At airport you can easy find a car rental or a taxi.

  3. faster way from the fiumicino airport to the center is the taxi.

usually take exactly 2 hours with train + metro to arrive at the trevi fountain.

  4. time is of the essence??? the best way is to take a taxi to all of them.... you could rent a car at the airport, they are all there but unless you have driven in Rome.... you'll get lost. allot of one-way streets and such. TAXI is by far and away the best, fastest way. once you are at trevi... you could walk to the other places. they are all within a 2-3 mile radius. you will be able to get a tourist map quite easily. watch out for pick pockets and scam artists... take a cab from the line of cabs, not one that comes up to you in the airport. you'll have a great time. wear some good walking shoes!

  5. Since you are not getting complete answers, let me break down your questions and answer them individually.

    --------------------------------------...

    * Rome Airport to Trevi Fountain:

    --------------------------------------...

From Rome Fiumicino Airport, I would allow about 45 minutes, mostly because of traffic, but it could certainly be less.

From Rome Ciampino airport, give yourself about 30 minutes.

The bigger issue will be finding parking.  You will not be able to park near the trevi fountain.

    --------------------------------------...

Where I can get a car at the airport?

    --------------------------------------...

If you are arriving at Fiumicino Airport, once you are in the terminal, past baggage claim, you will see signs that direct you to the rental cars.  They will lead you up an escalator, then through a short series of yellow sky bridges to a big room in which ALL of the car rental counters for the entire airport are.

Once you have done the paperwork for the car, you walk just a couple hundred feet to the garage where all of the rental cars are kept.

This is one of the most efficient things you will experience in Italy :-)

HOWEVER...  You should NOT get a car to drive in Rome.  Many of Rome's streets do not allow non-residents, and parking in Rome is extremely difficult.  So only get a car if you plan on driving outside of Rome.

There is a train at the airport that will take you right into the center of Rome much more quickly and efficiently than driving.

    --------------------------------------...

Approximately how long it take to get from there to the colosseum

    --------------------------------------...

I think you are asking how long from the airport?  If so, it is the same answer as above for the Trevi fountain.

    --------------------------------------...

then to the pantheon (separate time) than to the roman Forum

    --------------------------------------...

All of these places are extremely close to one another, and are all within walking distance of one another.

If you started at the  Colosseum, you would walk 50 yards tot he Forum..  From there, it is only 100 yards to the Pantheon.  The Patheon is only about 500 yards from the Trevi fountain.

  6. I would NOT recommend renting a car. You need a permit to drive into the centre of Rome, you cannot drive to the main sites like Trevi Fountain as they are traffic free and you would never find a park, unless you used the hotels or garages which can be pricey...but above all it is stressful if you are not familiar with the roads and the driving techniques of the Italians.

In a taxi it is about 40minutes from the airports to the centre and you can walk to all the main sites. From Trevi to Pantheon is about 10 minutes walk.
