  1. If you want to quickest possible route from the Oregon coast to a ski resort, it would be either Astoria to Mt. Hood Meadows or Newport to Hoodoo Ski resort.  Both trips are around 3 hours.  Maybe slightly less if you don't hit a lot of traffic and/or bad weather or driving conditions.  Mt. Hood is a much larger and more developed mountain and offers much more terrain.  It also has much better snow and a much longer season.

  2. you could go to hood, bachelor, or timberline. those are just a couple major mountains i like. it just depends on what part of the coast.

  3. what part of the coast?  are you going to mt.  hood?  depends 2 to 4 hours i guess.  if you are southern oregon cit takes longer if you are around newport like 2 and a half hours

  4. Portland/ Vancouver to Timberline is 1.5 hours.  What part of the coast?  Astoria is an hour west of Portland.

  5. if you're going to central oregon, approx 2 hours.
