Question:

How long does it take to get housing when you join the coast guard?

my boyfriend is joining the coast guard and i was wondering if while he was at boot camp would me and his daughter be able to move into the house they give you or would we move in beore that(we are not married ) and if not how long does it take to get the house..and does everyone in the coast guard have to do the a school????

  1. because he is single he does not qualify for housing.  also, he is not eligible for housing while in a training status.  Barracks only

    additionally, very few CG stations even HAVE housing.

    and because you are not married YOU are not allowed to live in Housing.

If you're talking about moving on base, then you will not be able to live there.  You have to be married to him.  Also if you're talking about on base, it depends on what base you go to, how much housing is available and how many people want to live on base.  Usually there is a waiting list.  It could be 30 days or even a year wait.  Even if married you wont get to live on base while he's in basic.

  3. He will have to go to A school, but I couldn't answer the other questions.

  4. ha ha.... ur not married you guys dont get a house...... unless your married the military does not give you benefits... your stuck where you are at. the CG wont even pay for you to move where he is stationed at

  5. You're boyfriend needs to talk to his recruiter about any questions he or you have about his joining.
