  1. It is all time based now until you hit CPT. I was promoted to 1LT in 18 months. Yes I too was at Bragg. Then CPT came a little more then three years. I was commissioned may 1999 and was a CPT by OCT 2002. I believe all Junior officers are time time based until you reached Major. Unless you really s***w up then you should be on the same path.  


  2. 18 months to 1LT, 36 months to CPT. It used to take like 48 months to make CPT.

  4. you shouldnt throw yourself away quit the army life is to short and you dont want to spend it in the army.

  5. It was 18 months like clock work in the 82nd. I can't speak for anywhere else, but it seemed to pretty much coincide with their duty rotation. They usually promoted them and then a few days later sent them packing to their next post or assignment.  

  6. It depends. If 2nd is better than 1st. He will get promoted soon.
