Question:

How long does it take to get proof of Insurance from Progressive Direct?

I'm planning on buying my first car in the next few weeks and have been browsing potential insurers. Progressive Direct seems to be the cheapest, but I'll need proof of insurance in order to switch the title when I buy the used car. I just am wondering if Progressive Direct is in the manner of "Quote, Buy, Print" or if there is some lengthy wait before I can provide proof of insurance?

  1. I have it, bought it online, print it out the same day.  You can even print your policy out the same day.

  2. Progressive Direct allows you to print off a temporary insurance card.

They are a good company but I am a little surprised that you say that they seem to be the cheapest.  How many quotes have you compared?

I would suggest reading the following article: http://mysite.verizon.net/ressg6c7/siteb...  by reading this article I was able to save a lot of money on my car insurance.  You might be surprised to find out that you can even get a cheaper rate.

  3. As far as i know, this is a question with many different answers,it is really depend on the judgement of yourself, provide a great resource here for reference though.http://insurance.online-frees.info/insur...

  4. Most insurance will either FAX you the proof of insurance or let you print it on your own computer.

    good Luck...

  5. Their website says that once you have a policy number you can print out ID cards.  You just have to register at their site.

    Quotes (Auto, Motorcycle, Boat/PWC, RV) 1-800-PROGRESSIVE (1-800-776-4737)

    Customer Service 1-800-776-4737

Either find a local agent or call one of these two numbers.

With any insurance I've ever bought, as soon as you sign the contract and pay, you are covered.

Personally, I like having an agent because the agent can explain all the possibilities you should consider and will be there if you need help with the company.  For instance, you can consider different deductibles.
