How long does it take to get resident visa - Dubai?

my husband has joined in a company in dubai he has gone in visit visa and they have applied for resident visa on july 22 till now no response from that company abt the status of the resident visa. also he has a ban for 6 months i just wanted to know it there any way to get away with the ban. thanks

Residence visas should only take a few weeks but it can vary a lot depending on the company and how much effort they make to get it processed. Some people end up waiting several months before their residence visa is finally processed.
