How long does it take to get tickets from a travel agency?

It depends on the type of ticket.

Most tickets are e-tickets and are issued at the time of booking.  Please note, that if your travel agency is a consolidator or tour type agency, they do not necessarily book the tickets at time of deposit or purchase.  

Very few airlines, mostly charters and smaller intls, use paper tickets.  If you purchase at the agency they should be able to print them there, if not, it usually takes about 1 week to mail.  This is a rarity nowadays.
