We are going on a holiday to Devon soon (16th August) and we heared it takes up to 8-10 hours? (From Grimsby) We have to leave at three in the morning , and would like to go see Stonehenge by sunrise...how long would it take? We also heared it takes longer getting there heading towards Stonehenge.

  1. Remember, you won't be allowed inside the stones (unless you have booked a special access tour) and will only be able to look in from the fence, which is facing toward sunset rather than sunrise.

  2. Grimsby to Stonehenge is just under 234 miles and would take around 3.5 hours to drive.  You don't say where you are going to in Devon and it's quite a big county so it's hard to say how long it would take to get there directly from Grimsby, or from Stonehenge.  Assuming that you would be going to Exeter then the distance is 323 miles going via Stonehenge.  Going directly to Exeter from Grimsby is 303 miles...obviously going by way of different roads which is mostly motorway.  Given that there is only a few miles difference, I would still go via Stonehenge if you have never been there before.

Have a safe trip whichever way you go...
