Do I have a chance to be on time (and buy tickets) if my plane lands at 8 pm and the bus leaves at 10pm?

And which is the best way to get to Retiro? Could you give me bus numbers or other information?

  1. Agree with the previous- you'd have to rush it and would definitely need to purchase your ticket in advance.  Which you cannot do online.  Or on the phone.  So if you don't have a contact there who can buy the ticket for you, then you'll have to change part of your journey.  If you do need to buy a bus ticket at Retiro, the ticket counters are upstairs.  Make sure to ask the information desk which window to go to-- there are 150+ windows but not all destinations are served by every window (or even close to it).

    To get from EZE to Retiro, I'd recommend the Tienda Manuel Leon although be advised it will take longer than a taxi (but is far cheaper--above response is correct.)

    Good luck!

  2. I think you have not enough time.

    After landing you will loss maybe one hour: migration, picking lugagge and customs (customs usually checks all passengers lugagge).

    Then you will need to take a bus o a "remis" to Retiro. Usually you need to wait 15-20 minutes for a secure remis (please don't take a taxi offered by persons in airport hall, because it is dangerous). Responsible services are: Manuel Tienda Leon (bus and cars), Transfer Express, Oriente, etc.

    The trip from Ezeiza to Retiro demands 40 minutes minimum... So, i think you will miss the bus.

  3. You might have a chance if:

    (i) You exit the plane within the first bunch of people and reach immigration facilities quickly;

    (ii) No other planes are arriving at the same time (which may be the case as usually planes departure from EZE at night and arrive during the morning);

    (iii) Customs is more likely to stop Argentineans than foreigners (are locals usually bring stuff from abroad and the custom officials will try to collect a bribe to let the locals enter the country without paying taxes) so you shouldn't have any problem;

    (iv) As soon as you exit customs (automatic sliding doors) go 45º right to Manuel Tienda Leon's desk and request a "remis," (a car with driver) let them know that you are in a hurry. If all this went OK you should be on the "remis" at around 8:45/9:00 pm.

    (v) Let the driver know that you must be in Retiro in 30/40 minutes because you must catch a bus and that you will give him a generous tip if he takes you there on time.

    (vi) Make sure to have the bus ticket as if you plan to purchase it in Retiro you will never make it.

    Best of lucks!

  4. It's a little tight. You may take too long at the airport. It may take you too long to get to Retiro (40 minutes to over an hour, depending on the traffic). And you may take too long to get your bus ticket.

    To buy bus tickets online or on the phone:

    Plataforma 10 (tickets from several bus companies)

    http://www.plataforma10.com/

    Phone: +54 11 5238-5100

    Plusmar

    http://www.plusmar.com.ar/

    Phone: 0-810-999-1111 (only calling from Argentina)

    +54 11 4315-3494 (You are lucky if someone picks up the phone)

    Retiro bus station (to check the companies/schedules for your destination)

    All these websites are in spanish and I don't think you'll get a rep who speaks english on the phone, so you better find someone who speaks some spanish to help you.

    Please be careful not to take any cab that someone offers to you. You better ask where to get a remise (another kind of taxi) at the airport information center right in front of the arrivals door at Terminal A. You can also call a radio taxi -which are a bit cheaper- but you'll have to wait for it a while and, again, I don't think you'll get someone who speaks english. These are some radio taxi phone numbers (prepend +54 11 if you call from your roaming cellphone): 4505-1111, 4857-1111, 4956-1200, 4923-7007. A remise should be about AR$90 (US$30) and a radio taxi about AR$80 (US$27).

    Watch your stuff at the bus station, it's usually crowded and there are some thieves around.

    This is the airport website

    (You have to select Ezeiza)

    Have a nic trip and wellcome!

  5. Carlos O is on point. Manuel Tienda Leon is a great service, I just returned from argentina recently. It is possible to make that 10:00 o'clock bus, but it's a gamble. You could go online but it's easier to do it when your there. I think the Leon would be your best way to get there. Taxis are also fine, gracomic is being vaginal. Buenos aires is general is very safe. We were out late and never encountered any danger.

  6. Very tight!

    And only will work if you land on-time and there is NO traffic from EZE to Retiro, thta by-the-way is like down-town.

    Cheap = fare, bus via Manuel Tienda Leon

    USD12.00

    Aeropuerto Ezeiza is EZE/BUE (airport)

    Terminal Madero y across retiro (altough quite a walk!)

    Fast = taxi: cost USD35.00

    Long-distance buses at Retiro:
