  1. i was just going to say... it depends on how fast the train is traveling and how many stops you'd make.

  2. It's about 8 hours.

This is website http://www.ferroviedellostato.it/ of italian railways.

Someone said Sicily is an island, so you can't go to Rome by trian. It isn't true! You can take the train in Sicily and then, it will go on a ship (you don't have to leave the train during that trip, only if you want) and then the train continues travelling in Italy towards Rome.

    Bye!

    Sorry for my bad English!

  3. I'm not sure, but remember that the trains in southern Italy are notorious for being slow and late.  By late, I'm talking hours and not minutes.  I think you should take a flight from Rome to Sicily.  You could fly into Palermo or Catania (I think) and the tickets aren't too expensive.  You could fly with Meridiana airline and pay around 100 or less euro and arrive in about 1 hour.

  4. palermo rome: 10hours and 43 minutes (direct train)

non direct train 12 hours and 40 minutes

  5. well....u cannot go from sicily to rome by train....sicily is an island....so u would have to take a boat to calabria, and then take a train from there to rome.
