How long does it take to get to an olympic standard for swimming?

i know you need to work hard but how many years does it take for you to get to an olympic standard ?

Depends how long you have been swimming, how good you are currently, how fit you are and what sort of build you have but at least 3-4 yrs

because there is no limts on how much children can train for swimming.  areas like to get kids who can swim well enough at the age of ten or younger.  then theyll train them up night and day till they they get to the top level (usually at the age of 17ish).  even then though most of them who get to that level still wont make it to the olympics

if you train hard for a few years and stick at it you will reach the top

Most olympic athletes train for the Olympics for most of their life

It would take at least 4 years for you to reach for you to reach that standard even if you are good swimmer to start with.
