How long does it take to get to each of these places, and how long should i spend at each place?

I am trying to configure a schedule for my trip. I will be entering Javez spain early morning december 17 and leaving Madrid at night on december 24th. I have already been to barcelona once before so i dondt need to go there again.

Here is the itinerary someone suggested for my trip:

Jerez to Sevilla, Cadiz, Costa del Sol, Marbella, Malaga, Granada, Tolido, and I must end in Madrid

How long should I spend in each one of these places?

Also how much time does it take to get between places by bus ( I am assuming this is the cheapest way to travel). should i spend nights on the bus or train so i can see more?

Thank you so much for your help

  1. Jerez to Sevilla, Cadiz, Costa del Sol, Marbella, Malaga, Granada, Tolido, and I must end in Madrid

Ok...first, Jerez and Cadiz are only about fifteen minutes apart so a taxi would be best for those.  You could spend a day in each.  Take a tour of the Bodegas (where they make world famous sherry) in Jerez.  See the sites in Cadiz.  Then head to Sevilla, where I would stay for at least a couple days.  It is about two hours North by train and is one of the most beautiful cities in Spain.  Make sure to see the giant cathedral.

From there I would head south (train is the best method, unless you'd like to rent a car to really see the countryside).  Marbella and Malaga are on the Costa del Sol and are about a four hour train ride from Sevilla.  Marbella is small, but super chic.  You could easily see it in a day or less...expensive, especially for Spain.  Malaga is only about 1/2 an hour from Marbella.  If you are staying overnight, definitely stay in Malaga and visit Marbella from there.

Head North from the Costa del Sol to Granada.  Should take about four or five hours.  Granada, in my opinion, is the best city in Spain in the winter.  Great town.  Make sure to visit the Alhambra.

Now where I am not sure is Toledo...I am fairly certain that is actually North of Madrid, so a bit odd...probably take a train from Granada to Toledo, but you will be passing Madrid on the way.  Take a look at some maps to decide if you want to include Toledo.  I could recommend visiting Cordoba and/or Ronda instead as those are between Sevilla and Granada.

Spend the least time in Jerez and Cadiz.  Then Malaga and Marbella.  Sevilla and Granada are where I would spend the most time.  Hope that helped out a bit

  2. Hi Scott A,

Did you not get the e-mail I sent you the other day detailing all? If not write to me again and I will re-send it.
