  1. Nearest tube station to Golders Rise, NW4  (There's no Goldens Rise shown in the London A-Z) is either Brent Cross or Hendon Central.  It looks like the walking distance is roughly the same from either one.

Use Multimap to get a local street map then print it out if you don't have an A-Z, otherwise you'll get lost when you leave the station.

Your Oyster card should be valid on the tube (I think you'd need Zone 3 for Hendon).

From Croydon - and I don't know which bit of Croydon you're in - your best bet is probably getting an overground train in to London Bridge.  I know they run to there from East Croydon station.  I don't think you can use Oyster on them but you'd have to check - some lines let you use them, others don't.  At London Bridge you can pick up the Northern line tube.

Under ideal conditions, figure about 30-40 minutes in to London Bridge, change onto the tube (northbound Northern Line train going to Edgware).  It's probably another 30-40 minutes on the tube.

Because there might be delays or missed connections, I'd give myself at least two hours, maybe two-and-a-half, for this trip.

I can't be more specific than that.  Hey, I'm not TfL!
