How many cigarettes do you have to smoke to get to the point where it feels comfortable and doesn't make you choke and cough?

(Please no 'smoking is bad' rants or 'you are stupid if you do' rants - i get it)

  1. Probably after a few weeks of continuous on/off smoking.  The first few times it feels like someone is spinning you around for a long time and then you feel dizzy and light headed to the point of nausea.   At this point you are trying to figure out why people do this.   After a few more times you start to feel just enough light headedness to actually feel like a buzz.  This is about the time you start to not cough so much.

Once you are around people who smoke, they take breaks and want to talk with you so naturally you are tempted to smoke because it's social and if you are used to it, gives you a dizzy buzz.  After a while the social habit will become a physical addiction because after you repeated trying to get that dizzy light headed feeling, it gets weaker and weaker and then what you feel is you HAVE to smoke because you feel worse when you don't smoke.  Addiction feels like the discomfort of having relatives coming over that you have to entertain that you don't feel like meeting, so to get to feeling at least normal, you smoke.

BTW-   Sports or other fitness routines are a better distraction with benefits that medicate your mind and body.  Why go with a destructive habit when you could go with one that may cure your ailment?

I knew a girl who used to cut herself, she was one of best swimmers in the state.  She redirected her emotions into swimming, believe me after working out hard for a couple of hours you feel BETTER.   (just don't over do it!)

  2. You get used to it when they put you in the ground.

    This is NOT a rant.

Have you ever noticed the small wrinkle lines aroung a smokers eyes? That from squinting because smoke still burns the eyees and smokers squint. You make choices, if smoking is one of them, good luck, you'll need it.

  3. A couple of days for me. I liked that light headed feeling it gave me. Now 17 years later I can't get used to not smoking. Its tough to quit. Guess thats why I still smoke :-(......I know its bad for your health and all but I never knew what it does to your skin. Ive got friends that started when I did and their skin is all hard looking and leathery like a football. Its really weird.

  4. It took me a couple weeks to get used to it, then it started making me sick.

So, what did my dumb *** do?

I forced myself to smoke anyway!!!!!

Unfortunately, I still smoke after 18 years.

  5. it doesn't take long to start, just takes a long time to stop.

    I hope you never start.

smoker for 32 years and sick as h**l!

  6. You probably know the risks and what not so I won't lecture you.

It takes around.......5. Don't smoke themone after the other or else you'll get a sore throat. Or at least that is what happened to me when I experimented with smoking.

Can I ask why you want to know or why you want to smoke?

  7. Smoking is cool and so is having emphysema, lung cancer, and chronic bronchitis. Check out the pictures in my source just so you can see what your lungs can potentially look like.
