How long does it take to get your car insurance moneys after a fire?

HI,

My car was burnt out the other day by some little fcks.

I have processed the claim but need the money asap as i don't get a hire car on my policy and i'm borrowing someones car.

Does anyone know how long these things usually take.

A friend of mines car was stolen and it took them 2 1/2 months to get there money through. Will it take this long???

Call the claims representative, and find out if the vehicle has been inspected.  The appraiser will likely declare your vehicle a total loss based on what you have described.  Once the vehicle information is received by the claims rep, you will be offered the Actual Cash Value less old damage and your deductible.   The vehicle will also be towed away to the salvage yard.

It should not take 2 1/2 months to get an offer.  A stolen vehicle requires a completely different investigation.  

The claims rep will probably not make an offer until the get the fire report.  This could take some time.  You might try to go pick it up on your own, and fax it over to the claims rep.  Discuss this option with him/her.  

If everything is on the up and up, then you could possibly have an offer by the end of this week.

One final note, if you speak with the claims rep, and explain your plight, they may be willing to move your claim to the "top of their caseload" so to speak.  Be polite, it works wonders with claims reps!  All to often, they are dealing with nasty people.

Nobody here will know. It will depend upon the company and if any investigation needs to be done. If an investigation is not warranted then you should get your money within a week. If they need to investigate then a couple of months is not unusual.
