  1. Topping off Freon in a system that is running and you are only adding 1 to 12 oz of Freon should only take a few minutes. If the system has big leaks and the system is totally flat and the system needs to have a vacuum pulled on it and then charged, it could take the good part of the day. Getting all the air and moisture out of the system is what takes so long. The water that is inside the system is turning from a liquid into different gasses and is being expelled out of the vacuum pump outlet. The technician doesn't need to be hovering over the car at all times so he should not charge you for the time the pump is running. He should only charge the flat rate or the time he really has his fingers on your car. I have left pumps run overnight to pull a hard vacuum on some cars to get water vapor out. The water left in the system will cause big problems when the A/C system is run if you don't get it out. It can freeze across the expansion valve o*****e and stop the flow of Freon within the system and no flow means not cool. The longer he leaves the pump on the better off you are if the system has been vented to atmosphere.

  2. it should take more than an hour once they hook up the machine to your car. but depending on the work load of the service station. it was take couple of hours.

  3. It is very quick and easy like filling up a tire with air. It should no more than 10mins.

  4. Went to jiffey lube, was in and out in 20 mins

  5. Nobody can evacuate and recharge your freon in ten minutes. I would say to evac the system, vacuum the system, recharge the system, check gauges, check temp vents, and to overall check the system for leaks and proper operation would take an hour once the vehicle is in the shop.

  6. Depends on the repair shop, some can do it on a wait. Which can take only about 10 min. But why does the vehicle need Freon, is there a leak? And were did it go? These systems are sealed, and under pressure, and dont just add, find the reason and get a warranty on the repair. A R-12 freon can be very expensive, and more then the most expensive steak per LB. R-134 is less but still expensive and need to correct the problem, to not having you go back the next day with same problem, not cooling, and wasting your time.

  7. Should only take a few minutes depending on how much needs to be added. However, if system is empty it needs to be checked for leaks, repaired as necessary, otherwise you are just wasteing your time and $$.
