I am learning/studying the Spanish language right now for an average of 2 1/2 hours a day. How many years do you think I can achieve the level where I can speak the language conversationally.

  1. not sure becuase im in spanish and only know the basics answer my question

  2. That depends. When I was 5 years old, I was fluent enough

  3. I took Spanish for many years in school and what the professors say is true- to fully understand a language and read and write it well, you must immerse yourself in it by going to a Spanish speaking country for a while. But you could probably develop a very basic knowledge of the language after about 9 months if you study every day.

  4. Only a year if you catch on quickly. The hardest part for me is remembering words and phrases during a fast-paced conversation. Very confusing:) But a year should probably do it for every-day conversations.

  5. 4 days

  6. at least a 1 1/2 to 2 years at most 3 if your really dumb

  7. If your goal is to learn to talk to people in conversations you don't have to study grammar at all. None of us did in English. I know a lot of people don't agree with that but it's true. I speak several languages and learned them all between the ages of 19 and 24. In all of them I am mistaken for a native speaker. I learned each one in about 5 to 6 months. I didn't study any grammar at all. All I did was learn the most common phrases that I would have to speak to people throughout the day. And then I learned the most common responses that I'd get back from people. That's it.

There's a great Spanish website at http://www.learn-podcast-spanish.com/spa... that will show you the most common topics and phrases native Spanish speakers use. It's a great resource.

Check it out and good luck.

  8. It'll take a long time because it took me a long time to figured out how to say a few words... Good Luck!

  9. When I lived in MD, I was a Spanish teacher at a middle school.  The school itself was for gifted students, but  my class was for anyone interested in learning the language--no special skills necessary.  By studying for 90 minutes each time just twice a week, I had a group of 105 students able to hold  a 10-minute conversation in just seven months.

Depends on if you are trying to learn this yourself, or you have help.   The key is to practice what you learn as often as you can.  It's best to master a concept before you move on.

    Buena suerte!

  10. about 2-3 years

  11. 5 yrs

if your learning by yourself oyu need to learn grammar and with no help you cant get that. plus its not enough just to know the words. people in my Spanish honors class after 4 years still arent fluent so i'd say 5= years
