I'm 13 years old, 5'3, 140 pounds, and an active soccer player. I have intense practices 2 hours a day. I eat only when I'm hungry and refrain from eating late at night. I've been doing this for about a week now and I am going to weigh myself once a week.

  3. That depends on your methods. If you chop off a limb, only a few seconds.

  4. if all is well about two months. 10 pounds per month is average

  5. You seem to be on the right track here. Don't push too hard to lose weight faster. The way you treat your body over the next few years is important to your overall health in the future. One to two pounds a week is a healthy rate to lose weight. Otherwise, you can do harm to your heart... even at 13. It can eventually catch up to you. So be sure to be safe and healthy. Take your vitamins. Every week try to not do intense workouts one day out of the week to give your body time to recover.  As others have calculated, it should only take a few months. Just keep at it the way you are doing it. Remember muscle weighs more than fat so if you have a hard time getting down to 120 lbs. You are still healthy. Maybe your muscle density is just higher naturally.

From what I can tell from the picture, that seems like the case. You have a very nice athletic build!

  6. Not very long, maybe 3 months, and eat a big breakfast so you not hungry later.

  7. Try eating 5-6 times a day. You can eat more regularly with smaller amounts and try to make your metabolic rate speed up. And it sounds like you get enough exercise as it is.

  8. To lose 1 pound, you have to eat 500 less calories per day for 7 days.  To lose more than 1 pound a week is not healthy.  So you must either cut your caloric intake by 500 per day or BURN 500 calories at your present eating level.  Don't put too much pressure on yourself because it can make you feel deprived.  Eat what you like for now -- but cut it in half.  Then see if there is any progress.  If not, then start substituting food by adding salad and eliminating carbs.  (But carbs are important too, so make sure you have a serving of bread or cereal each day).  Don't be in a hurry.  It will only cause stress.  Good luck.  I know you can do it.

  9. you might gain weight doing that depending on your body type and your current amount of muscle. Muscle is heavier than fat. Maybe you should invest is a tape measure for your waist, and upper legs. That would be more effective in measuring progress.

To answer your question: A person should never lose more than an average of around 2 pounds a week and never more than 4 pounds in any one week. To do so is dangerous and shows that you are starving or dehydrating yourself.

  10. Are you joking? Is that you in the pic. You look in incredible shape. Don't ruin your body and athletic performance over scale weight. Please.
