I put in my application online on the 16th and gave my biometric information (fingerprints, photos) a few days ago. I'm studying abroad starting on the 14th of january - can I get it in time? the embassy in LA no longer takes general calls in person and i have to pay by the minute ($3/min) to a third-party service if I want to check up on the status of my visa. anyone have similar experiences? thanks!

  1. if you have been approved by the school, that is the first thing to have,

which embassy ?of which country? if you have send in your application by now, you should have an answer, also if you financial status is within the requirements of the UK?

do know that if all is ok? the consulate does the best to give an answer on time, as for you to attend classes on the due date;and waste not your money on calls please, just wait , it will be okay, and an agent? is unnecessary , the consulate does all for you,

ps: if you have send in all the consulate required? you will be considered and get your visa.

  2. It doesn't matter whether u used an 'agent' or not. Usually it takes about 2 weeks to get the VISA from the date of submission of application. You may be required to mail additional documents if the authority ask. You'll get answers to your all questions at this site: http://www.britainusa.com/sections/artic...

  3. Good luck.   If you are having an agency handle the visa you'll get it a lot faster than just sending it through the mail.    It took about  2 weeks for me to get my visa last year and I had an agency handle it from start to finish.
