  1. ask in the US section, this is australia

  2. If you've applied after fulfilling all of the citizenship requirements i.e. 4 years residence including at least 12 months Permanent Residency, completion of the Citizenship test and payment of the $240 application fee, it doesn't take more than a few weeks.

Most people are required to make the Pledge of Commitment as the final step in becoming an Australian citizen.

Once your application has been approved, arrangements will be made for you to attend a citizenship ceremony at which you can make the Pledge.

Once you have made the Pledge before a person delegated by the Minister you will be an Australian citizen and you will be given a Citizenship Certificate.

Most ceremonies are arranged by local government councils. It can take a few months from the date of approval until you are invited to attend a citizenship ceremony. You will receive details about your citizenship ceremony well in advance so that you can invite relatives and friends if you wish

    EDIT:

I see that you've now seen fit to tell us that you were asking about US citizenship. Ignore what I wrote and ask in the US section.
