How long does it take to receive a non drivers license here in the U.S.?

I need one and here's the problem, I have to appy for my passport renewal which takes weeks, can I use my social security card....I need an ID, temporary perhaps....any way?

Same day.  You need a US birth certificate and a social security card -- that match.
