My daughters father told me back in April of this year that over 800 dollars was taken from his tax return for back child support. I have still not gotten it. I called the child support office and all they tell me is when his last regular payment was made. How long does it take. Is there a national # I can call? My local office doesnt seem to know anything. I know he is not lying to me about the payment because I never once asked him or mentioned anything, so he has no reason to lie to me. He brouht it up. I didn't even realize he still owed me back child support.

  1. Six weeks to six months.  If he's married or if FMS doesn't have his marital status (the IRS can't tell them) then it will take 6 months to allow for a current spouse time to file an Injured Spouse claim.

There's no "national number" you can call.  Your local child support enforcement agency is your only point of contact.  The IRS will not discuss his tax return with you so there's nothing to be gained in calling them.
