  1. wow thats a long time, you should be getting them soon. I got mine a few weeks after. But then again it all depends on your state.

  2. Im in Canada, it took 10 days for birth certificate, 2 weeks for social insurance card, and 3 weeks for health card!

  3. I live in state of ohio. We have to go pick up my boys birth certificate. had to pay to get them which I think with the first copy should get free. Social security card I can't remember. I know copy of weeks. I know they told us if I don't get them in couple of weeks or to give them a call. I know I need those to get insurance for my children and this one the way.

  4. We had to go pick up our daughter's birth certificate. They don't mail it. In Illinois it takes something crazy like 16 weeks to get a social security card. We are the second slowest state! Rhode Island takes even longer. Most states take 4-8 weeks.

My daughter was born Dec 3 and we barely had her social security card in time to file taxes!

  5. My son was born in Ohio, and it took just over 2 months before the social security card arrived in the mail (and it was misspelled, so we had to return in, and that took like a whole year to get all sorted out!), but you have to go and get the birth certificate from the Health Department in the county he was born in. It will cost somewhere around $15- $25, varying by state. It should be ready in about 2-3 months.
