  1. Yeah it does take awhile. honestly, my son is almost two and my scar is still numb a little. My bff said her scar is numb too and her son is almost a year and once in awhile will hurt her. I guess it takes us longer to heal unfortunately, but its normal. =) take some ibuprofen. it helps for me. Or if your not breastfeeding, take a shot of tequila and forget aaaaaallllllll about it. lol jk

  2. I have had 3 c-sections and my last was over a year ago my stomach is still numb. I don't know if you will get the feeling back. I had my 1st c-section and 5 months later found out I was pregnant again my stomach was still numb when baby number 2 was delivered. I did have a little feeling before baby number 3 came but it wasn't much, and that was almost 2 years in between.

  3. It takes around 6 weeks i heard. but i cant promise its true. Go to this website.

  4. It can take your muscles up to a year to heal and you have to take it a little easy on them until then.  The nerve damage (numbness) can take up to seven years to heal, if it heals at all.  I know quite a few people who have had c-sections and all of them have numbness, even up to over 20 years later! Remember that even with a bikini cut they have to go through seven layers (more for t cuts and others) and some of those layers have longer healing times then others.

My doctor told me to just take it easy on ab exercises.  She said that I can do them, but to do only a fraction of what I used to do and don't "max out" on them (don't do them until you can't do them anymore).

    Good luck!

  5. Depends on ur level of strength and pain, after my c-sec i was up walking in the next hour with pain but not to the point where i couldnt move after 3 days i went home i was fine and went str8 to walmart for shopping!

  6. it all depend on you it took me 1 week to recover

  7. i heard that recovery could take up to a year. my sister in law had 3, but to fully recover is about 1 year.

  8. i had a c-section march 06 and i still have a numbness around my scar.

it can take up to a year for your body to feel normal again.

i  asked my doctor about this and he said it might never return to a normal sensation due to nerve damage.

as for the pain when doing sit ups i was the same, so i asked a fitness instructor friend of mine and he got me to try a safer way to do a sit up.

if you lie on your back with your knees bent and put your hands on your thighs close to your tummy and lift yourself off the ground so your hands are touching your knees.

you can also do the same as before but put your hands on your tummy just below your b*****s and lift till you feel your muscles tightening.

this way will help protect your back and stomach muscles from damage and they are better that the old way.

start by doing 3 sets of 15 and then work that amount up.

just do what feels comfortable and work it up   good luck

  9. I had my c-section 2 yrs ago this month and my stomach area around the incision is still numb.  I was told that that may never go away.  As for soreness around the stomach area when doing sit-ups that you will probably have for about a yr until you get those muscles strong again.  Hope this helps.
