Question:

How long does it take to replace a muffler?

My brother and I are stuck with only one car and now that car needs the muffler replaced. It's only the muffler that's the issue. Normally, should I bring it to a Midas or something, what's the turn around time for that?

And would that be my best option to get it fixed?

Thanks in advance!

  1. average is an hour or two.  All they have to do is weld it on.

  2. 30 Min's at any exhaust center  or 40 Min's diy

  3. Shouldn't take more than an hour.  If they can get right on it.  But I wouldn't recommend Midas.  I've heard they mess with you.

  4. I would not take it to a national chain.  Find a local shop.  It should take about an hour to replace just the muffler.  If there is more to be replaced the I would say about 3 hrs.  Don't let them sell you a converter unless your check engine light is on.  Even then I would ask to see the problem.  Ask  to see your old parts

  5. about 30 minutes to replace one at a muffler shop,a lot longer if your doing it your self and have to cut it off, good luck.
