How long does it take to ride 5 miles on a bike?

Question

My best best best friend moved and now he lives 5 miles away. I still want to go to his house at least twice a week. I can only go there with a bike.. but i dont mind riding 5 miles. How long will it take me though?

BTW even though i have both a mountain bike and a bmx bike i like riding my bmx bike better, even though the mountain bike is more comftorable. think its a dumb idea going with a BMX bike? has anyone ever rode that far on a BMX?

OH! i know you guys are going to say "it depends on how fast you go".. um i go pretty fast. not extremely fast but i dont ride in a casual, easy pace. so if 1 is very slow and 10 is very fast i probably ride a bike in the 7.

actualy it isnt that far at all. 20-30 mins . i ride that far, and even farther sometimes

yeah riding 5 miles is no big deal. but it also depends if you are riding on flat terrain or a lot of seep hills. oh yeah and the mountains bikes are easier, but the bmx will keep you in shape. either way, 5 miles is nothing.

15-20 minutes. It's not a big deal, I ride 15 miles once a week and only takes me 45 minutes to an hour
